EAfter all the fun of making some Gene Marshall sized El Encanto shopping bags on Sunday (and after a few suggestions), I decided to try making some more bags . . . only this time branching out into some other exclusive shops that Gene would frequent on one of her shopping sprees. This all really started when my Mom suggested that Gene really needed a bag from Don Loper's Salon! I mean, we all know that movie stars participate in his great benefit fashion show, right?! Then, it was easy to start adding other bags like Oleg Cassini (Gene Tierney was married to him, so it's particularly fitting!), Lord and Taylor, Jordan Marsh, Saks Fifth Avenue, Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Chanel No. 5 and Marshall Field and Company. The bags are slightly different in size and shape --- each one being hand-folded card stock, there's always a little variance. And, of course, there is co-ordinating tissue in each bag! The possibilities are pretty endless here, so I can already envision some more bags. I think that my Gene dolls have a shopping problem! I've had several people contact me to ask if I would sell a bag. Sure! Cost of first bag is $28.00 shipped in the USA (each additional bag is $20.00 when shipped together). For International prices, just e-mail me through the contact form or directly at [email protected] Each bag has a little printed item tucked inside. El Encanto has a mini version of the store map, other bags have mini advertisements, articles or photos. (All except Yves Saint Laurent --- frankly, his ads are too disturbing for me to browse through.) Saks Fifth Avenue comes with a nice fashion ad, but I have a great ad for a gentleman's hat . . . so, if you'd like your Gene to shop for Trent, just let me know, and I can change the ad! |

Colossians 2:8:
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. BEATRICE: MY HONEY-BEE

My "favorite" member of the Clapham Sect. Not very much is known about him, but what is preserved keeps a beautiful memory alive of an exemplary Christian man. William Wilberforce Quote:
May I look to Him for wisdom and strength and the power of persuasion, and may I surrender myself to Him as to the event with perfect submission, and ascribe to Him all the praise if I succeed, and if I fail say from the heart thy will be done. For you Jesus Christ came into the world. For you he lived and showed God’s love. For you he suffered the darkness of Calvary and cried at the last, ‘It is accomplished.’ For you he triumphed over death and rose to new life. For you he reigns at God’s right hand. All this he did for you, though you do not know it yet.
Where there is one, there is a majority of one; and when the rights of the majority take away from the rights of the one, then the many will themselves suffer.
~Henry David Thoreau~ I often think of Bag End. I miss my books, and my armchair, and my garden. You see, that's where I belong. That's home. That's why I came back, because you don't have one. A home. It was taken from you. But I will help you take it back if I can.

He was born with a gift of laughter & a sense that the world was mad. The future is to be read with certainty only in the past. Man never changes. PRIDE & PREJUDICE:
A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony, in a moment. PRIDE & PREJUDICE:
