Yesterday was the Nanea's one-week anniversary . . . in other words, I've now had her for a week! She is so amazing, and I'm so glad that I got her. One thing that she definitely needed, though, was a necklace. I didn't care for the one that came with her accessories and really wanted to make something with a pearl on it. Originally, it sounded like a really cool idea to use the Pick-a-Pearl that I got at Disney Springs last year, but after looking up pearl cages for that (most of which would have been too big for Nanea), I decided to put it in a cage to wear myself! So, it was sort of back to square one. Mom and I had some fun digging through our "jewelry bin", which is older jewelry we're saving for parts and anything for jewelry making. Plus, Elizabeth has a whole case of jewelry making supplies, so I raided that as well! She had these great freshwater pearl beads. Team those with some navy blue cord and some little wooden or stained bamboo beads, and Nanea has a perfect necklace! I beaded and tied the cord and used six pearls as the main focal points.
